Stow Veterinary Surgeons are a partnership of 2 veterinary partners.  We currently employ 5 assistant vets.

We have a dedicated receptionist at our main premises in Stow On The Wold.

Our nursing team consists of 7 qualified veterinary nurses who are led by a head nurse. Our practice manager works closely with the partners to ensure the practice ‘runs’ as smoothly as possible.

Partners / Vets:

Robert S Broadbent

BVet Med MRCVS, qualified from RVC London April 1977 worked in mixed practices in Yorkshire (2yrs) Buckinghamshire (2yrs) Dursley Glos (5yrs) then 2yrs in North Yemen on a British aid project before becoming a partner at Stow Vets in 1988. Since then has continued to attempt to stay a generalist whilst spending more time with birds and camelids (old and new world).

Grahame Howe

Grahame qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 1998. After working in Cheshire, North Yorkshire and London he came to work for Stow Veterinary Surgeons in 2002. He became a partner in 2005. He aims to be a ‘generalist’ and has a keen interest in most aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. Ultrasonography, dermatology, ophthalmology and surgery are his favourite topics. He works closely with Veronica Wilson to manage the day to day running of the practice.

Carrie Collins

Qualified RVC, London 2007. Studying for ESPVS small animal medicine certificate. Special interest in small furries and overseas voluntary work.

Amy Mills

Amy obtained a degree in biology Bsc from Durham University in 2001. After two years spent working in scientific publishing she then went on to study veterinary medicine at the Royal (Dick) School Of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh qualifying in 2008. Her interests include canine and feline internal medicine. She has been with Stow Veterinary Surgeons since qualifying in 2008.

Jenny Bajwa

Jenny qualified from Bristol Vet School in 2010 having previously completed a Zoology degree at Nottingham University. She is enjoying all aspects of mixed practice.

Antoinette Kelley BSc (Hons) BvetMed MRCVS

Antoinette (Toni) recently joined Stow Vets in September 2011. Toni moved to London from Maine, USA in 2002 to undertake her veterinary degree at the Royal Veterinary College. After graduation, Toni worked in both equine and small animal practice in Kent, Derbyshire and Surrey. Her main interests are in small animal medicine and surgery, and she recently attended a specialist course in orthopaedics.

Jo Wicksteed

Jo qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 2001. After a short spell working in a mixed practice in Sussex she has since worked in various small animal practices in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She joined Stow Vets in Oct 2011, having been on maternity leave since the birth of her daughter in May 2010. Her interests include feline and rabbit medicine and dermatology.

Nursing team:

Tracy James

Tracy has been a veterinary nurse for 20+ years and has worked in both referral and general practice in a variety of locations including Oxford, Essex, Swindon and New Zealand. She joined the team at Stow Vets in 2006 and was promoted to Head Nurse the following year. Tracy has a particular interest in intensive care nursing and rehabilitation. She also has a qualification in canine hydrotherapy.

Naomi Shadbolt

Naomi qualified in September 1999. She joined Stow Veterinary Surgeons in January 2001.She is qualified in Small Animal Dentistry Level 1. She is a Hills Nutritional Advisor, a Pet Insurance Advisor, and a Royal Canin Pet Health Counsellor. She has a special interest in physiotherapy.

Lisa Haine

Lisa started at Stow Vets September 2001 as a student veterinary nurse. She qualified in 2005.

Jodie Austin

Started nursing at a local practice in 2000 and qualified in 2004. She then went on to qualify as a veterinary nurse training assessor in 2005 and moved to Stow Vets in 2007. Professional interests include rabbit critical care nursing, dentistry and animal physiotherapy.

Vanessa Busby

Vanessa joined Stow Vets in February 2007, having qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1995. She has been an NVQ assessor in veterinary nursing since 2002 and is also an RCVS examiner for the veterinary nursing practical exams. Vanessa has recently passed her advanced diploma in companion animal behaviour and training and is now available for consultation.  She has a keen interest in puppy behaviour and training, in order to help them have the best start in life.

Krupa Patel

Krupa joined in October 2011, and has been in practice for 7 years. She is currently waiting to take her final exams to acheive her Veterinary Nursing qualification. Krupa enjoys all aspect of nursing, but especially enjoys nursing patients. She also has a keen interest in birds.

Rebecca Pawsey
Rebecca qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2011 and is soon to complete a BSc in Veterinary Nursing Science.  She enjoys all apects of the veterinary nursing role however has a particular interest in medical nursing.

Reception:

Rebecca Russell

Rebecca is a registered SQP (companion animals). She has been a receptionist for over 10 years. Currently she is studying for Law Degree Hons with O.U. She aims to become a specialist lawyer in the veterinary field.

Accounts Manager:

Veronica Wilson

Veronica is a qualified accountant who works closely on a day to day basis with Grahame Howe to manage the practice.
